She proudly served in this position until July 2011. Sister Vivian was preceded in death by her parents Alphonse Schmidtberger and Clara (Graf) Schmidtberger; her brothers Linus Schmidtberger and Michael Schmidtberger; her sisters Hermina Roth, Angelita Schmidtberger, Hubertine Schultz and Mary Schmidtberger. Margaret was born in Hilbert, Wisconsin, on March 27, 1926, the daughter of Michael Thiel and Elizabeth Bauer. Her commitment to the mission of the Sisters of St. Agnes and her academic and professional studies guided her as an educator, counselor, pastoral minister, diocesan consultant, and executive leader throughout her fifty-two years as a vowed woman religious. She received a BS in Education from Marian College of Fond du Lac, Wisconsin, an MA in Library Science from Rosary College, River Forest, Illinois, and an MA in Theology from St. Marys College, Notre Dame, Indiana. Cremation has taken place. Francis Home and Hospice Hope for their care of Sister Clare Marie in her last years.
